What is a volkswalk?

A volkswalk or volksmarch is a leisurely 5 or 10 kilometer walk (3.1 or 6.2 miles) through a scenic, historic or interesting area, over a predetermined route. The walk is noncompetitive and participants can walk at their own pace, making it an excellent recreational activity for the entire family. You never know what beautiful sights await you when participating in an American Volkssport Association (AVA) event.
